West Siphonics Smash Three Peaks Challenge

Members of West Siphonics Systems Ltd office, fabrication and site teams completed the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge in May, which consisted of a 24-mile (38.6km) round trip route, and includes 1585m (5200ft) of ascent over the Ingleborough, Whernside, and Pen-y-ghent peaks.

Team West completed this challenge for a charity very close to our hearts, Dementia UK, and we would like to thank everyone that donated and helped us smash our target and raise over £2,600.

“Dear Team West,

Thank you so much for taking on your Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge for Dementia UK and for making your fundraising such a success. Your dedication means the world to us and is helping to build a future where no one faces dementia alone.

Thanks to your generosity, more families can access the life-changing support of our dementia specialist Admiral Nurses. They are there when people need them most, providing health advice, offering compassionate emotional and psychological support and helping families plan for the future. For so many, they are a lifeline.

Your incredible fundraising of £2670 (excluding Gift Aid) is already making a difference to people like Gail, whose Admiral Nurse Maxine is helping her cope with the challenges of young onset Alzheimer’s disease:

“The difference between Maxine and any other health professional I’ve seen is that she gives me time. Talking with her, I instantly feel at ease. She was the first person throughout my journey to actually listen to what I have to say.  I wish everybody with a dementia diagnosis could have access to an Admiral Nurse.”

Your fundraising has had a real and lasting impact on families across the UK. We’ve enclosed your certificate as a token of our gratitude – please know how proud we are to have had you by our side.

It has been a privilege to support you with your fundraising, Team West. On behalf of everyone at Dementia UK – our nurses, our team, and the families we support – thank you.”

Efficient Drainage at Winvic Construction’s Newport Pagnell Warehouses

West Siphonics Ensures Efficient Drainage at Winvic Construction’s Newport Pagnell Warehouses

West Siphonics Systems Ltd has successfully completed the installation of over 7,300 meters of siphonic rainwater drainage pipework at two new warehouses constructed by Winvic Construction Ltd in Newport Pagnell. This high-performance system is designed to ensure effective and sustainable rainwater management across the large-scale site.

Utilizing siphonic drainage, which operates under negative pressure, we were able to deliver a solution that minimizes the number of downpipes and removes the need for steep gradients.

This approach not only accelerates installation time but also provides significant space-saving benefits, allowing the site to remain efficient and functional.

Our collaboration with Winvic Construction Ltd allowed us to create a tailored drainage system that effectively meets the demands of the new warehouse facilities, enhancing water flow while reducing material usage. The result is a cost-effective, environmentally friendly system that contributes to the overall sustainability of the project.

With extensive experience in siphonic technology, West Siphonics Systems Ltd continues to lead the way in delivering innovative, reliable rainwater drainage solutions for large-scale commercial and industrial developments.

High-Performance Drainage at ICT UK’s New Paper Mill

West Siphonics Delivers High-Performance Drainage at ICT UK’s New Paper Mill

West Siphonics Systems Ltd recently completed the installation of an advanced siphonic rainwater drainage system at ICT UK’s new paper mill in Deeside. Working alongside Northern Cladding Ltd, we installed approximately 7,615 meters of siphonic pipework, ensuring efficient and reliable roof drainage for this large-scale industrial facility.

Unlike conventional gravity systems, siphonic drainage operates under negative pressure, rapidly drawing water from the roof with fewer downpipes and no need for sloping pipe runs.

This allowed us to design a system that optimizes space, reduces material usage, and improves flow rates—critical for a site of this scale.

By working closely with Northern Cladding Ltd and other project stakeholders, we tailored a solution that meets the paper mill’s specific demands while enhancing overall sustainability and cost efficiency.

With decades of experience in siphonic technology, West Siphonics Systems Ltd continues to set the standard for innovative, high-performance rainwater management solutions.

Lutterworth GLP MPN5 Magna Park

West Siphonics have recently completed the installation of circa 7,000m of Siphonic rainwater drainage pipework on the GLP MPN5 unit at Magna Park, Lutterworth, for our friends at Winvic Construction. The unit is an impressive 383m x 177m in size and boasts an overall roof area of circa 68,000m². Based on the geographical location of the building and the rainfall criteria stated in the building specification, at peak storm events, the siphonic drainage systems on this project will be removing over 4,800 litres of water every second.

West Siphonics Go… Karting

West Scotland’s budding F1drivers were unleashed at the fantastic Larkhall Circuit International go karting track just before the Christmas break – and amazingly there were very few casualties!

Heavy rain made for a very tricky track and there were many spin outs and a few collisions, but the in house track co-ordinator praised the overall skill level on show, with the title eventually going to project manager Craig Cameron, although some were calling for the implementation of VAR for next years event!

Thanks to Automotive Scotland

A big thanks to Chris McMahon and Automotive Scotland for arranging our latest electric vehicle, part of our commitment to reducing carbon emissions and helping the environment.
