West Siphonics has been selected to develop the Siphonic Roof drainage scheme for the new Vaccines Manufacturing Centre in Didcot, Oxford. This state-of-the-art building will benefit from our industry leading design with both Primary and Secondary siphonic rainwater drainage systems offering the greatest protection to the building and its invaluable contents. West Siphonics will Design, Manufacture and install 1400m of pipework to drain a total of 410 litres per second from the roof.

Works began on the site at the Harwell Campus in early April, West Siphonics will commence with the installation of the systems in July.

BBA Annual Audit Completed

It’s that time of year again – Audit time!  We have just had our annual audits from BBA and CFA covering our Hydrostorm 75 Siphonic Roof Drainage System, and our ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System & ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System.

All are essential to our core business as we view a BBA Agrement Certificate as a mark of excellence based on rigorous National and European standards that validate a construction product’s specialist capability, giving our clients confidence in our on-going commitment to quality and performance.

Similarly, we view our ISO QM & EM systems as much more than just a piece of paper we stick in a drawer every year until the Auditors come around.  We utilise fully the relevant management and environmental procedures in the daily running of our business to ensure quality and traceability throughout. That way, when the Auditors appear, we don’t have to change a thing to impress them – we just keep doing what we always do!

New Face at the Scottish Office

A new face in the Scottish office – CAD Designer Bryan Mackie. Bryan is the brother of one of our installers, Scott, who has been with the team for the past 3 years. Bryan brings with him several years of design engineering and draughting experience from the renewable energy and utility industries and it has been a bit of an eye opener. He said,

“I never fully appreciated the significant importance of roof drainage before, but I find it both challenging and rewarding to apply my earlier experiences to the designing of siphonic roof drainage systems.”
