West Siphonics Systems Ltd has successfully completed the installation of over 7,300 meters of siphonic rainwater drainage pipework at two new warehouses constructed by Winvic Construction Ltd in Newport Pagnell. This high-performance system is designed to ensure effective and sustainable rainwater management across the large-scale site.

Utilizing siphonic drainage, which operates under negative pressure, we were able to deliver a solution that minimizes the number of downpipes and removes the need for steep gradients.

This approach not only accelerates installation time but also provides significant space-saving benefits, allowing the site to remain efficient and functional.

Our collaboration with Winvic Construction Ltd allowed us to create a tailored drainage system that effectively meets the demands of the new warehouse facilities, enhancing water flow while reducing material usage.

The result is a cost-effective, environmentally friendly system that contributes to the overall sustainability of the project.

With extensive experience in siphonic technology, West Siphonics Systems Ltd continues to lead the way in delivering innovative, reliable rainwater drainage solutions for large-scale commercial and industrial developments.

West Siphonics Systems Ltd recently completed the installation of an advanced siphonic rainwater drainage system at ICT UK’s new paper mill in Deeside. Working alongside Northern Cladding Ltd, we installed approximately 7,615 meters of siphonic pipework, ensuring efficient and reliable roof drainage for this large-scale industrial facility.

Unlike conventional gravity systems, siphonic drainage operates under negative pressure, rapidly drawing water from the roof with fewer downpipes and no need for sloping pipe runs. This allowed us to design a system that optimizes space, reduces material usage, and improves flow rates—critical for a site of this scale.

By working closely with Northern Cladding Ltd and other project stakeholders, we tailored a solution that meets the paper mill’s specific demands while enhancing overall sustainability and cost efficiency.

With decades of experience in siphonic technology, West Siphonics Systems Ltd continues to set the standard for innovative, high-performance rainwater management solutions.

West Siphonics have started work on McLaren Constructions site in Worksop, where developers Invesco Real Estate and GARBE Industrial Real Estate are constructing two new warehouses in the prime East Midlands logistics market.

The two-unit scheme, comprising of separate 462,500 sq ft and 86,500 sq ft facilities spread over 28.9 acres. West Siphonics will be installing over 4,500 metres of siphonic rainwater drainage pipework across both buildings.

West Siphonics have started work on the installation of over 7,000 metres of siphonic rainwater drainage pipework at a 770,000 sq ft warehouse in Doncaster.

Panattoni Park Central A1(M) offers one of the best connected locations in the UK. Central A1(M) 770 is the largest single speculative build unit hitting the UK market in 2025.

Paul Samways (Project Manager) for Winvic Construction Ltd says “Overall, a first class installation and as always, a pleasure working with the WSSL team”.

Back in July 2023, West Siphonics Systems was appointed to design, supply and install the Siphonic rainwater drainage to a new development in Lutterworth. The project comprised of 3 Nr large warehouses equating to a vast gross internal area of over 56,000m2 or, 603,000 square feet in old money!

Our scope of works also included the Siphonic rainwater drainage to the office areas, where all internal pipework was thermally insulated to prevent condensation from forming on the pipework in the warm office spaces.

The Siphonic design consisted of both primary and secondary systems. On 2 of the 3 units, it was possible to discharge all the water to one end of the building. This resulted in a large saving in terms of underground drainage requirements and subsequently, improving on the initial construction programme timescales.

Over 6,000 metres of pipework were installed and the project was completed in December 2023.

Magna Park Corby is one of the UK’s largest dedicated logistics and distribution parks.

The MPC2 and MPC3 site contains two smartly dressed warehouses, each with over 590,000 square foot of floor space.

The Siphonic roof drainage consists of seven primary & secondary systems on both sides of the warehouse draining the roof of over 50,000m2.

As part of the project over 10km of pipework was fabricated and installed to drain a collective 6,832 litres of water per second from the roof.

The stunning V&A Museum Dundee stands partly on the banks of the mighty River Tay, and partly in the River Tay. The iconic building is the work of award-winning Japanese architects Kengo Kuma & Associates, and was designed as a way of reconnecting the city to its historic River Tay waterfront.

West Siphonics designers worked closely with the project design engineers to produce a custom built siphonic roof drainage system to work within the curving concrete walls (there are no straight external walls) which create the appearance of a Scottish cliff face.

Low and Zero Carbon Technologies identified the latest direct and renewable energy sources for the £80m Museum.
